This timeline provides a brief description of each major event.

 

From PBS television, this timeline includes cultural and political events.  Click on an event and read more about it. 

 

The WorldBook (username: mvmlibrary, password: worldbook) provides articles about all major events, including pictures & videos.  Choose Student Edition, then type your event or person in the search window. 

Encyclopedia Britannica also covers most major events and people.  (look for it on lower-right side of this page)

Eyes on the Prize covers 26 majors events in the movement, with biographies of people and groups, interviews and primary sources such as news articles, videos, music, and art work.

 

Voices of Civil Rights provides interviews and photos of people who witnessed the movement.
